J.K. Rowling was rejected by numerous publishers before one of them took a chance on the Harry Potter series. What did she have in spades?
Persistence.

“Find something that you are passionate about in making a difference and you’ll find a waiting kinship of people willing to unite for the cause.”-Wes Adamson
Ensure your manuscript is edited and proofread. Purchase a fabulous cover. The cover makes the reader pick up the book. Write a blurb that entices the reader to open the book. Ask readers to leave a review or purchase editorial reviews. Reviews give third-party validation. Do podcasts. Enter awards.
Successful authors never give up.
